Grado 2022

Climate crisis, huge amounts of data and Italy on fire. Grado stands for the generative data visualization project of the eponymous city in the northeastern province of Friuli Venezia. Using over 20 years of climate data, we developed an algorithm that translates heat, climate movements and annual fluctuations into generative shapes and colors. 

The main objective within this project was to create a way to show heat fluctuations without losing our audience by overcomplicating the message we wanted to convey: "Watch out, it’s getting too hot here." For our farmers, the fluctuations in temperature in the Italian district have become unbearable to cope with.
